ABOUT NATHAN

Nathan Burd, 31, has been a Reynoldsburg resident for seven years and has been actively involved in city government and community service.

After receiving a B.A. in Political Science from The Ohio State University in 2000, Nathan joined the staff of former State Representative and current Congressman Pat Tiberi. In January of 2001, Nathan became the Legislative Aide for former State Representative Larry Wolpert.  In this role, Nathan served as the lead staff member for two legislative committees and assisted in the passage of legislation on a wide range of issues.

In 2004, Nathan joined the staff of Heartbeat International, a nonprofit association of life-affirming pregnancy resource centers and adoption agencies. As the Director of International Program & Public Policy, Nathan worked to expand the number of resource centers available to families in need in the United States and all around the world.

In 2007, Nathan served as the Chairman of Reynoldsburg’s Charter Review Commission, a bipartisan group tasked with reviewing our city charter line-by-line and recommending needed updates and changes.  Nathan was appointed by the mayor and city council to two additional boards in 2008: the Reynoldsburg Housing Commission and the Reynoldsburg Income Tax Review Board.  Nathan is also a member of the Reynoldsburg-Truro Historical Society.  A deep dedication to the city of Reynoldsburg and its residents has prompted Nathan to run for city council.

Over the years, Nathan has been involved in many campaigns on the local, state, and national level and he is a former elected member of the Franklin County Republican Central Committee. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Franklin County Republican Party, but greatly enjoys working with people from all partisan persuasions to improve our community.

Nathan and his wife Jolene own FlyComm, Inc., a graphic design and communications firm.  They are members of the Vineyard Christian Church, where Nathan’s brother Brian is the senior pastor.
